Sustainable Development Goal #4 of 17 Quality Education (and Project Management)

Sustainable Development Goal #4 is a whopper! It has ten targets and in this post I am going to focus on only one part of one target. “By 2030, ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, a thorough education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and culture’s contribution to sustainable development”

First of all, aren’t we all learners?

Yes!

Do we ever stop learning?

No! Of course not!

So I am speaking to you Right?

Yes!

Ask yourself. Do you have the “needed knowledge and skills to promote sustainable development as a project manager?”  (pregnant pause) Well, you came to the right place! How can you contribute to SDG#4 As a project manager? Easy! All you have to do is put P5 into practice. What is P5? It is our sustainability standard for project management. Best of all It is free and maps to the SDGs, Hooray! In the majority of the posts on the SDGs, I will give specific pointers on what to do to incorporate them into projects, not with this one. SDG #4 is unique. I want to encourage all to take the time to learn about sustainability and how their projects both contribute to or detract from sustainable development on a local and global scale. Below is the mapping we put together after the Global Goals were released to show the correlation to our standard.  We will be unveiling a newer P5 version soon with tighter integration but this serves for the time being.  The download link is below!
